Talk It Out!

The Women’s Agenda team of Angela Priestley and Georgie Dent host a range of dynamic guests and discuss ideas on shifting the dial for women at work.

Episode #014 - Work It Out - featuring Rebekah Campbell

Entrepreneur Rebekah Campbell joined the Work It Our podcast this week, to talk over the latest affecting how we live and work with Women’s Agenda.

Rebekah is the co-founder of Australia’s largest tech app for cafes and restaurants, Hey You. She’s previously founded a number of other startups, including Posse and Scorpio Music.

She shares how she’s recently exited Hey You (via a 12 month transition that coincided with becoming a parent for the first time), as well as a little more on the next stage in her career, launching a startup in the education space.

“I got to the point where I wanted to find that business that I could give the rest of my life to, I’ve been searching,” she tells us. “I’ve been thinking about the future of education, what that will look like, and how I can play a role in shaping and improving that.”

We also talk the Glass Cliff phenomenon– featuring special guests Marissa Mayer and Theresa May (being discussed, not actually in the studio), as well as Uber, women’s awards, speaking up, those weird phrases like ‘grow some balls’, and the scrutiny that lands on female CEOs.

We also talk this week’s upcoming Flexible Working Day — and why we might want to consider working in a ‘structured way’, for a bit of a change.
