Talk It Out!

The Women’s Agenda team of Angela Priestley and Georgie Dent host a range of dynamic guests and discuss ideas on shifting the dial for women at work.

Episode #041 - Talk It Out - What does good leadership actually look like?

Season 2 | Episode 14 - Suzy Jacobs joins Angela Priestley and Georgie Dent to share the best attributes of actual decent leadership, at a time when politicians could really sharpen up. Plus some troubling new research on sexual harassment, and some great podcast recommendations.

The latest Women’s Agenda podcast is away, and this time GOOD leadership is high on the agenda, given recent events in Australia and around the world.

Suzy Jacobs joins Angela Priestley and Georgie Dent in the studio, and the three share some examples and ideas about what makes a great leader in 2018.

“There’s one word for leadership in Australia at the moment, disappointing,” said Jacobs. “I think they’ve all been disappointing… What you hope for is that someone is going to stand up and represent something. Give us a philosophical standpoint, a viewpoint, something that we can latch on to and that you will hold on to.”

We also discuss a recent survey into sexual harassment by Shine Lawyers which found that 19% of the 3677 Australian women over the age of 18 have been sexually harassed at work. Only 1 in 5 made a complaint and of those, 18.2% decided to resign with no job to go to afterwards.

And we share our key recommendations for the week, including a couple of great podcasts and television shows.

Suzy is the host of The Change Room podcast.
